The Art of Living lies in the Simplicity of Life
Life is by nature complex and we make the living complicated by thinking and working in complexity. The art of living lies in simple thinking and simple working.
It is about letting go.
It is about giving up.
It is about sharing.
It is about caring.
It is about parting with things and it is about departing from conventions and questioning the assumptions. The assumptions that lifestyle needs luxurious stuff to state and signify our style statement.
“The substance matters more than the style.”
“The definition matters more than the design.”
A style carrying wrong substance will fall flat and a design with a wrong definition defeats the very purpose of the principles of design. What we wear defines our personality. The presumption that designer clothes and rich fabric amplifies our personality is fundamentally flawed. It is the simplicity in design and the subtlety in the color combination that best defines the personality. We should never imitate a style but carry our own style in our own inimitable way. Nothing is sacrosanct and nothing is drawn with non-irascible marker, these are conventions and these conventions are subjected to change and change is always good in life.
The art of living calls for welcoming change and embracing change with warmth and making the change a part of living. The art of living is in eating simple things. Health is a function of food, though food is fun and we love to experiment and engage with the festivity of food but the celebration with the variety of food should not be taken too far.
The less we complicate the cooking the better is the eating. The less spicy we make the ingredients; the better it is food the digestion system. The less fat we consume the less is the load on the body.
“The body needs vitamins not painkillers.”
The body needs calorie not kilo-calorie to pack our body layers. The ears needs the music to keep it ringing and get the melody in mind. The mind gets the lubrication with the flow of beautiful music hitting the mind like the waves hitting shore and creating a rhythmic pattern of endless engagement. We often get lost in the cacophony of surrounding and noisy loud from the hard rock and the metallic sound that keeps coming from multiple quarters and we get trapped in the sound zones.
The art of living is in the simple bits and bytes of natural sounds of the nature and the simple songs with meaningful lyrics. The music matters but the lyrics should not get submerged in the dissonance of musical notes. Everything around has the power to empower us but if we start possessing the things we get imprisoned in the process of possession. The weight of carrying things affects our mind and the weight of body affects our physical state of living, the combined effect of weight is not a healthy sign for body and mind.
The art of living lies in reading good prose and profound poetry written in simple words and conveying the essence and meaning of living and the philosophy of life.
The following ten principles of life say it all in simple phrases…
Pursue your Passion
Discover your Purpose
Disconnect to Connect
Past is History
Present is Gift
Gratitude is Attitude
Design your Destiny
Define your Doctrine
Simplicity is the highest form of Sophistication…simplicity calls for discipline and demands control and curtailment in things we do carefree and with giving a thought to what it does to our health and to the health of nature. Simple things eliminate negativity in life and once we get accustomed we live a life of positivity. We make our surrounding both in home and outside devoid of unnecessary things and things that make no meaning to us but can make a difference in life of others, we give them and we make the place less clutter and more space to move and manage our activities.
The lesser the clumsiness, the lesser is the distraction in our thinking and the more is our productivity in working.
The art of living is in simplicity, the art of living is reducing the consumption, the art of living is in giving and forgiving, the art of living is in discovering our purpose in life and living a life with passion and carrying a strong attitude of gratitude and grace.
The art of living is about living in the moment of joy and living with the memories of beauty and duty… simplicity is everything.
